Dynamic PRI’s

Dynamic Bandwidth is provided by combining local and long distance voice traffic with your data network – across a single, PRI/T1.

The Dynamic PRI can be used to carry just Voice traffic but it can also be used to support your Data (IP/Internet) traffic too! Whenever your voice lines are not in use, the bandwidth can be used to support Data/IP traffic.

A lot of customers use a Dynamic PRI to support their Voice traffic as PRIMARY and if their IP circuit (i.e. 10M) fails, the Dynamic PRI can be used for backup/Disaster Recovery to support Data/Internet traffic. Granted, the PRI will not provide any higher bandwidth than 1.5M, but at least it will provide you with data continuity so that your business can continue to have Internet connectivity  until your Primary Internet circuit is restored.

If you have multiple PRI’s bonded together (i.e. 3 T1’s) then you have 4.5M (3XT1) and will have the capacity to support 4.5M worth of Internet/Data bandwidth. The maximum number of T1’s that can be bonded together is 8, to obtain a total bandwidth of 12M. To achieve more bandwidth than 12M, Ethernet or Fiber will need to be installed – which can support 10Meg to 10Gig. You also have the option to “embed” PRI’s within the Ethernet/Fiber circuit so that it supports both Voice and Data services.
