Integrated Business Bundles

Integrated Business Bundles allow customers to get multiple services on the same circuit; Voice, Data/Internet and even Video if desired. The interface, circuit handoff will include a device commonly known as an IAD (Integrated Access Device) to receive and split out the different services that are provided on the circuit.

This figure shows an integrated access device (IAD) combining multiple types of services (voice, data, internet and video) onto one circuit. This diagram shows that three types of communication devices (telephone/voice and  internet) can share one data line through an IAD.  In this example, the telephone interface provides a dialtone signal and converts the dialed digits into messages that can be sent on the data channel. The data interface converts the line data signal into Ethernet (or other format) that can be used to communicate with computer, servers, etc. This diagram also shows that the IAD must coordinate the bandwidth allocation so real time signals (such as voice) are transmitted in a precise scheduled format (and priortized).
